What is OBS?

OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) is a free, open-source streaming and recording tool that many creators use to broadcast to our platform. Instead of streaming directly from a single camera or app, OBS lets you build a custom "scene" by combining multiple sources — your webcam, microphone, screen share, overlays, alerts, and images — into one polished broadcast. You can switch between different scene layouts on the fly (for example, a "starting soon" screen, a gameplay view, or a talking-head interview layout), add custom graphics and text, and fine-tune your audio and video settings before your stream ever reaches your audience.

To use OBS with our platform, you'll connect it using your unique stream key, found in your account's stream settings, then configure OBS's output settings (bitrate, resolution, and encoder) to match our recommended streaming settings.
